The 2008 Vermont Secretary of State Election was held on November 4, 2008. The total votes casted was 302,223. Deb Markowitz (Democratic) was elected, receiving 70.87% of the votes, which equals 214,197 votes.

The final election result is as follows. Deb Markowitz of Democratic (70.87%) won with a majority of the votes, defeated Eugene J. Bifano of Republican (23.20%) by a comfortable margin of 47.67%.
